CADERNOS NIETZSCHE (The Journal)

Cadernos Nietzsche aim at building a debate forum for the variety of questions that arose from or came up with Nietzsche’s reflection.

Within the one hundred years that separate us from the very moment in which the philosopher interrupted his intellectual production, the most different images attached to his figure, and the most diverse readings adjoined his legacy. Well-known above all for philosophizing with the hammer, Nietzsche – one of the most controversial thinkers of our time – left a polemical work, which remains in the centre of philosophical discussion. Hence the opportunity opened up by this journal.

Being a wide open space for the confrontation of interpretations, Cadernos Nietzsche attempt to be a vehicle for articles dedicated to exploring the philosopher ideas or unveiling the scheme of his concepts, for writings devoted to the influence exerted by him or to the repercussion of his work, for studies committed to comparing his approach to certain themes with other authors’ approach, for pieces that aim at analyzing specific problems or examining particular questions, as well as for texts that struggle to evaluate the actuality of his thinking as a whole.

Bound up with Nietzsche Studies Group, Cadernos Nietzsche hope to diffuse essays written by Brazilian scholars as well as translations of works made by foreign authors, articles of well-established researchers and texts of postgraduate students. Founded in 1996, they have been published in May and September ever since. The articles contained in them are also indexed to The Philosopher’s Index, Clase and Geodados.

Welcoming the most various approaches, Cadernos Nietzsche wish to give this peculiar philosopher some serious consideration.
