Il De mortibus boum di Endelechius costituisce la più significativa ripresa del genere bucolico nellapoesia cristiana e nella tarda antichità. Nell’inetrvento verranno esaminati le modalità della ripresa del genere in quest’opera, e la sua collocazione nell’evoluzione della poesia bucolica dall’antichità al medio evo.
Fabio Stok is Professor of Latin Literature at the University of Roma Tor vergata, Italy. He published books and article on Latin classical and humanistic authors, critical editions (Vitae Vergilianae, Appendix Probi 4, Niccolò Perotti’s Cornucopiae 6 and others) and translations of Latin texts (Cicero’s Somnium Scipionis; Ovid’s Fasti; Seneca’s Troades). His main field of research is currently the history of Virgilian exegesis, from the Antiquity to the Renaissance, with particular attention to Late Antiquity and Servius’ commentary.
